Recurring tasks will auto create the next recurrance when they are marked as completed.

The most up to date recurrance is like the master task. It has a green icon next to it in the tasks list view.

If you change that task it will change the future tasks that are created from it.

You can also stop the task recurring by changing the recurring settings of that task so it is not recurring any longer.
